Delivered as a palatable, easy to administer liquid formulation it can be used in combination with prescription medications and has no known side effects.
Product Formulation
DNA Vetcare: Calm Care (120 ml Liquid) offers a multi-ingredient approach to promote neurotransmitter function and support normal emotional and behavioural well-being. The key ingredients are:
L-Glycine: Helps calm pets by acting as a neurotransmitter inhibitor in the central nervous system. The result is a reduction in nerve activity, which in turn reduces overstimulation and promotes a sense of calm.
L-Glycine also interacts with other brain chemicals, notably acting as a co-agonist at NMDA (N-methyl-D-aspartate) receptors. When NMDA receptors are overactive, anxiety levels can increase. L-Glycine's role in modulating these receptors helps to balance neuron excitability and reduce anxiety symptoms.

L-Theanine (Chamelia Sinesis):
- Boosting levels of calming brain chemicals, including Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), serotonin, and dopamine. These neurotransmitters help regulate mood, emotion, and stress.
- L-Theanine has a similar structure to glutamate, the brain's primary excitatory neurotransmitter. It can bind to and block some of the glutamate receptors, which decreases excitatory impulses and the brain's overall stress response.
- L-Theanine has a positive effect on brain wave activity, stimulating the production of alpha waves. Alpha waves are associated with a state of calm, wakeful relaxation and mental alertness.

L-Tryptophan: The amino acid L-Tryptophan converts into serotonin, a neurotransmitter that helps regulate mood, happiness, and sleep. By increasing serotonin levels, it can help reduce stress and aggressive behaviours.
Ashwagandha: An adaptogenic herb containing the natural steroidal molecules, withanolide and glycowithanolide.

Catnip: Can provide a mild sedative or calming effect that is helpful during stressful situations. For some pets, its mild sedative properties can help them fall asleep more easily.

Calcium and Magnesium: Both minerals are essential for normal nervous system function. Magnesium binds to calming receptors, while a normal calcium-to-magnesium balance is important to a number of cell types.

Directions for Use
The product is supplied with a measured dropper pipette for safe and accurate serving.
- Shake bottle well before each use.
- For general, maintenance usage; for each 10kg of body weight give 2ml, twice per day, alongside meals (unless otherwise recommended by a veterinarian).
- Total daily amount can be split between morning and evening meals. Ahead of particularly stressful times (i.e. vet visits, grooming, anxiety inducing separation, etc.) the full daily amount can be given in a single serving 30-60 minutes before to provide more rapid onset of effect.
