Formulated by vets DNA Vetcare: Calm Care (50 Sprinkle Capsules) is a premium feed supplement designed to provide key nutritional support for stressed and anxious dogs and cats. Delivered as a palatable, easy to administer sprinkle capsules formulation it can be used in combination with prescription medications.

Product Formulation

DNA Vetcare: Calm Care (50 Sprinkle Capsules) offers a multi-ingredient approach to promoting neurotransmitter function and supporting normal emotional and behavioural well-being. The key ingredients are:

  • L-Tryptophan: The amino acid L-Tryptophan converts into serotonin, a key neurotransmitter

  • Valerian Root Extract: Valeric acid and valepotriates bind to specific brain receptors.

  • L-Theanine (Chamelia Sinesis):

    • Supports levels of Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), serotonin, and dopamine. These neurotransmitters may help manager normal mood, emotion, and stress.
    • L-Theanine has a similar structure to glutamate, the brain's primary excitatory neurotransmitter. It can bind to and block some of the glutamate receptors, which decreases excitatory impulses and the brain's overall stress response.
    • L-Theanine has a positive effect on brain wave activity, stimulating the production of alpha waves. Alpha waves are associated with a state of calm, wakeful relaxation and mental alertness.

  • Ashwagandha: An adaptogenic herb containing the natural steroidal molecules, withanolide and glycowithanolide.

  • Catnip: Can provide a mild sedative or calming effect that can be helpful during stressful situations. For some pets, its mild sedative properties can help them fall asleep more easily.

  • Calcium and Magnesium: Both minerals are essential for normal nervous system function. Magnesium binds to calming receptors, while a normal calcium-to-magnesium balance is important to a number of cell types.

Advice on Behaviour Issues

There are many possible triggers of problematic behaviour in pets, some of the most common include:

Shared Signs (Dogs & Cats)
  • Avoidance: Turning the head away, avoiding eye contact, or moving to a different room or hiding.
  • Body Language: Tucked tail, pinned-back ears, and dilated pupils.
  • Displacement: Yawning (when not tired) and frequent lip or nose licking.
  • Physiological: Trembling, rapid breathing/panting (unrelated to heat), loose stools, loss of appetite.
  • Elimination: Urinating or defecating outside designated areas.
  • Destructive: Damaging furniture.
Dogs:Cats:
Increased Vocalisation: Bark, whine, or howl excessively. Hissing, spitting, arching the back (piloerection), or swatting.
Walking in repetitive patterns or struggling to settle. Overgrooming: Licking until they create bald patches or sores.
Cling: Become "velcro dogs" and shadow their owners. Freezing: Become completely still and hunched to appear smaller.

Directions for Use

DNA Vetcare: Calm Care (50 Sprinkle Capsules) is highly palatable and presented as easy to administer sprinkle capsules that can be given whole or opened and mixed with food.

  • For every 10 kg of body weight, give one capsule per day.
  • The total daily amount can be split between morning or evening meals.
  • Ensure fresh water is available at all times.

For Animal Use Only. Do not use in conjunction with CNS depressants, prior to anaesthesia or with hepatoxic drugs. Please contact your veterinarian in the case of accidental overfeeding. Do not use if tamper-evident seal is broken or missing. Keep out of reach of children and other animals.
